A Denim Story with Sara Maino and Vogue

An editorial by Vogue Italia's Sara Maino introduces the denim story films by selected directors and cutting-edge denim brands, each with their unique take on denim.

In Fashion denim is certainly one of the most exciting and versatile fabrics. It also requires a lot of energy which can be polluting for the environment. ISKO, as the leading ingredient brand in denim, has been for long looking for ways to make denim’s impact on the planet less harmful. In its search for a responsible production, ISKO works hard on innovation, minimizes its impact on natural resources and water consumption thanks to advanced textile technologies.

Vogue Talents believes in the same goals and wants to bring awareness to these issues: we nurture emerging brands and designers who work in a sustainable way. Our February issue inaugurates and celebrates the 10 years of Vogue Talents and we have dedicated the entire issue to the topic of sustainability, the most difficult challenge we face in the world, its consequences on climate and humanity.

To bring out and highlight the value of a more responsible denim and promote designers who embrace the challenge, ISKO and Vogue Talents have asked five movie directors of the new generation to tell the denim story of five brands. We will be launching them weekly both on Vogue.it and on this website.
